we all love babies, don’t we? their fragility makes us treat them like fine china. with good reasons of course. but babies grow up and sometimes grown-ups refuse to realize it.
while it gives us joy to see our kids live comfortably under our care, i believe it is at the best interest of the children to allow them to taste responsibility at a young age. little things like making their bed (it doesn’t have to look like a hotel bed), feeding their pet fish, packing away toys they’ve used, brushing their teeth without being asked to are some of the simple tasks they can start with.
children need care. and just like adults they need to care. and i believe the best way for them to learn how to care is to for them to learn how to care for themselves.
